Bloemencorso, Netherlands and Belgium

Meaning “Flower Parade” in Dutch, Bloemencorso is a parade of this kind held every year on the first Sunday of September in many towns of the Netherlands and Belgium. 

During the festival, lots of floats, cars and even boats are decorated with flowers and gorgeous floral figures. Each parade has its own theme and charm. Zundert holds the largest flower parade in the world.



Brussels Floral Carpet, Brussels, Belgium

All those who want to see the capital of Belgium in full bloom would better come here in August. The big Belgium Flower Carpet comes to be celebrated every two years and last from August 12 to August 15. 

During the festival a huge floral carpet is created just in front of the City Hall in Brussels, which thousands of tourists come to see. The viewing is free, but if you want to get a panoramic view, you can pay 3 EUR and go up one of the adjacent buildings.



Batalla de Flores, Valencia, Spain

La Batalla de Flores or The Battle of Flowers is celebrated annually at the end of July in Valencia, Spain to mark the end of the month long Feria de Julio. It starts with a long parade of big, gorgeous flower floats pulled by horses and filled with girls dressed in the theme of the float. 

After the floats have looped the streets for a couple of times, the battle begins. The spectators and the participants start throwing flowers at each other and girls even hold tennis rackets to defend the flower attack.




Jersey Battle of Flowers, Channel Island of Jersey

The Jersey Battle of Flowers is an annually held festival, which consists of music, dancing, majorettes, funfairs and a parade of flower floats. 

The festival is celebrated in the second Thursday of August. The “Battle” involves participants, who start throwing flowers at each other. The Moonlight parade finishes with a beautiful firework display.




Chiang Mai Flower Festival, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Known as the Rose of the North, Chiang Mai hosts a beautiful flower festival ever year during the first weekend of February. 

The city gets flooded with wonderful flower beds, yellow and white chrysanthemums and the Damask Rose, which can be found only in the city. The best part of the festival is the Flower Festival Parade, during which flower floats, pretty girls and hill tribe people in colorful costumes move down the streets. 

Thai dances and music are the inseparable parts of the festival. People who take part in this parade hand out roses to the spectators.
